These Terms of Use govern your use of Script: Screenwriting Notes ("the App"), developed and published by MKZ Labs ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these terms.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any Apple device you own or control, subject to the App Store Terms of Service and these terms.
You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or distribute the App or any part of it without our prior written consent.
Everything you write in the App is yours. We claim no ownership or rights over your scripts, outlines, or any other content you create using the App.
Because Script stores your work locally on your device (and optionally in your personal iCloud Drive), we have no access to your content and bear no responsibility for its backup, retention, or loss. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups.
The App is sold as a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store. After purchase you are entitled to use the current version of the App indefinitely. Future major versions may be sold separately, but we will always offer meaningful free updates.
All purchases are processed by Apple and subject to Apple's refund policies. We do not handle payment information directly.
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You may not use the App to create content that:
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of bugs.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MKZ Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
